Manual input is hard work. Pricking yourself 3-4 times a day and having to fill the data in your favorite diabetes management app is sometimes cumbersome. That is why today, we are happy to announce our brand new feature ā automated Bluetooth connectivity with a number of glucose meters.
You can find the new option in the āDataā screen of Diabetes:M. It will allow you to find and connect to a Bluetooth enabled device and automatically send your reading to the app.
Hereās how it works
After connecting to your meter from the app, check your blood sugar. Depending on what you want to do, there are several possible uses:
First, when you use the connected meter to check your glucose, a log entry with the reading will be created automatically in Diabetes:M. If that is all you want to do ā great, itās done!
If you have the Log Entry screen open, it will create the entry and fill in the information for the reading in the āGlucoseā field. You can then add all the other information you want to be saved in this entry. When you are ready, just tap the āSaveā icon. You will get a prompt whether you want to overwrite the entry (since the reading is already automatically saved in your Logbook). Tap āyesā and thatās it.
If you have the Calculator screen open, you will go through the same process as in the Log Entry screen ā the Glucose field will flash and be automatically filled with the reading. Then you can make the calculations and save (again, overwrite) the log entry.
Currently, there are a number of supported devices:
- CONTOUR NEXT ONE
- ACCU-CHEK AVIVA CONNECT
- ONETOUCH VERIO FLEX
All the devices that support standard Bluetooth Smart glucose profile should work as well.
The feature is available as part of our Premium subscription plan for users with the latest update for Android devices. An iOS version is in development and will be available at a later date.

This won’t connect to my Smart duo 4sure meter
Will this automatic data upload work with the Freestyle Libre GMS?
Yes! To use App “Libre Scan” ;p
Your latest update is not compatible with my LG tablet.
THANK YOU!
This only supports 3 meters and you want a monthly fee?
Brilliant! Finally this feature.
Are you going to add Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) as well?
Like Freestyle libre or Dexcom G5.
Keep up the good work.
I have a Dexcom G6 and have same question.
Can I connect the libre to download the information into the app
Use App “Libre Scan” ;p
How soon will this be available on iOS?
Dexcom G5 is not working in this app, is it?
Why subscription? i would rather pay one off price and be done.
Synchronize with Accu-Check Connect ?
Congratulations!
I ask for the applicability of the Roche manufacturer’s blood glucose meter App App, including the Accu Chek Performa Connect and the Accu Chek Combo, Accu Chek Spirit Combo Pump Reader. It would be very useful to make this feature available!
Thanks
I have a dexcom G6. Is this supported as a Bluetooth device?
Is this option work with Accu Chek Instant BGM?
Hi. Would it be possible to make available the Accu-chek instant? It is the European version of the Accu-chek connect. They both work with the Accu-chek connect app.
So, how do I remove the stupid subscription plan system from this program? It’s made me tempted to look for alternatives, because I need the features to live, and I don’t like the thought of someone else making money off of that.
Please add Accu-ChekĀ® Instant to Bluetooth supported devices.
Looking for a meter that connects BlueTooth ONLY ! I want to sync meter with Samsung Android Tablet (NO PHONE) and be able to display a graphical output of the stored readings.
This worked this way when I first starting using the Tablet, shortly a time later, the Tablet Device required a Internet connection to use.
I only want to use the meter with BlueTooth ahat does NOT require accessing the Internet to access the storage and display of graphical information on the tablet.
Does this app work with OneTouch meter I am now using ?
Is the Aviva expert supported as a Bluetooth device?
Does this app work with Relion premier Blu meter?
It does work very well with the Relion Premier BLU meter. I have one myself and bought it specifically so that I could use the Diabetes:M app.
I love the app and chose it hands down versus other apps for diabetes management. However, I learned at the end of my second week that I could no longer depend on my meter automatically feeding my test results to the app. This was very disappointing. I realize that your app is a for-profit product (and certainly it deserves to be paid for), however I felt cheated that after just two weeks I could not use the automatic feature–especially when I went out and purchased a new meter and test strips, just so that I could use them with your app. Again, very disappointing! This part of the app should not need to be a for-fee feature–it should be a standard part of all versions (including the free version). It sort of shows a ‘stingy’ side to your company and I’m certain that I’m not the only person to have noticed this. Please consider including the bluetooth connectivity to all versions of your app!
I have the premier Blu and I pay for the AP and it still won’t connect reliably.i do not think it is the app. I believe it to be the meters. Mine did the same thing with the Walmart app.
I have Ihealth BG5 glucometre with bluetooth. It is possible tu read date this ? Thk.
Dexcom G5 is not working in this app, is it?
Is the Dexcom G6 supported?
Paid for subscription, then tried to scan and got an error message saying it’s not compatible with Libre 14 in United States. So confused! I am seeing many posts of success and happiness that alarms work with Android, libre 2, libre 1, libre 14, but what gives in the US? Am I just living in the wrong country? Need to find a solution that gives me alarms, but can’t afford Dexcom.
Does the app work with the Miaomiao BT device (connected to a Freestyle Libre)
Hi! I am a long time premium subscriber. Is your Android app version also compatible with other Bluetooth enabled Accu-chek glucose monitors, aside from the Aviva, namely, the Accu-chek “Guide” and the Accu-chek “Instant” “
Is the Dexcom G6 supported?
I am new to the app and live in the UK, can I ask does the app support my libre 2 ?
