APRIL 27, 2017 – Sirma Medical Systems is proud to announce that its pilot product – the Diabetes:M application, was announced winner in the “Best app for healthy living and eating” category at the 2017 Webit Awards. The award was presented by Hila Cohen – Private Sector Partnerships Lead, Innovation Accelerator at the World Food Programme.
The glamorous gala ceremony took place in Sofia Tech Park as a part of the 2017 Webit Festival – one of the leading Digital and Innovation events in Europe.
Diabetes:M was selected as the winner by a diverse international jury of more than 20 technology and healthcare experts from all over the world. Among them were Prof. Shafi Ahmed and Dr. Lisa Latts. Prof. Ahmed is one of the most famous surgeons in the world and the first one to perform a series of operations with virtual reality gear. Lisa Latts is a Deputy Chief of IBM Watson Health – one of the most developed AI projects in the world of healthcare.
This year, the festival gathered in Sofia Tech Park about 5000 attendees from more than 90 countries. Over 300 speakers shared their invaluable experience from leading global companies and will help businesses adapt to the trends, which are going to change people’s lives radically in the next few years.
